Positive: Convenient to food, groceries, activities, etcThe warm and kind night manager on duty on our check in day Negative: Hotel is breaking down and not being kept well - I'm talking the pillars outside the buildiing being wrapped in red duct tape, the wall peeling off in the elevator so you just saw the particle board; was not appealing and felt very unsafe

So this review is based on things I've noticed the multiple times I or family who came to visit have noticed in the past year. Cockroaches are freeloaders that often come to visit you. One so much as ran across my father's foot. The next morning another dead one greeted them outside the door. There was also a cigarette butt on the floor in the hallway. The pool is sad. Dirty muggy and the photo featured is a lie. That is NOT what it looks like and there is no hot tub. I'm a local and took my parents to another pool and willingly payed for their day pass just to avoid this one. In the past, I'd say February,(writing in July) I stayed a few days because I was in a middle of a move. I requested room service at 12pm as I needed clean sheets. Never got my bedding and had to go downstairs that evening and instead of new bedding I had to accept cheap polyester blankets. Hopefully, cleaning staff is better since but honestly the entire place doesn't look any cleaner than last time. The bedding is also set up very oddly. I'm not sure if they don't fit the bed or they were put in wrong. Looked tacky. Also, the elevator was being fixed at the time I stayed but visiting my family who recently stayed here, it was still broken. It was broken over a year ago too. Neither of us are probably coming back here but as I understand it, there's new ownership as of this year (would explain the renovating) so genuinely good luck to you but we've seen enough. If I may add one thing, regarding the pool area. The see-through fence feels a bit exposing to anyone outside walking by. It would be nice if there was faux shrubbery screen around even a portion of the fence for privacy and a bit more luxury. (Assuming that's not some type of fire hazard.)

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout my visit. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. The location is another huge plus, with several great restaurants within walking distance, making it easy to grab a meal without having to drive. I stayed here about a year ago, and I was truly impressed by the positive changes under the new management. The difference is noticeable—from the overall atmosphere to the level of service. It’s clear the team takes pride in creating a great guest experience. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be staying here again!

Regarding my highly unsatisfactory experience related to my reservation at the La Quinta Inn in Schertz, TX, scheduled for June 17–22.||In the three weeks leading up to my stay, I made approximately 25 attempts covering across weekdays, evenings, and weekends to contact a manager regarding some travel-related issues. Despite repeated calls, I was never able to reach a manager. I was given conflicting information about the general manager’s location between the Schertz and San Marcos properties being told he weas at the other, reaching out there and being again told he was at the original location called. Ultimately in over 3 weeks of attempts, no manager was ever on site or available.||Upon arrival on June 17, I was able to speak with a manager, who stated that a manager is always on site. This directly contradicts my prior 3 weeks experience and raises concerns about the truthfulness and consistency of the information provided by the staff on an ongoing basis. Perhaps this is a standard operating procedure to deny callers from connecting to a senior staff member.||When speaking to the front desk, the staff was unable to assist with the most basic of questions beyond providing the Wi Fi password, frequently responding that they did not know.||Most concerning was the condition of the property itself. The room and surrounding areas had a strong, pervasive odor of mold and mildew. Portions of the hotel appeared to be in significant disrepair or undergoing unfinished renovations. Due to these conditions, I chose not to stay even though I paid for the room.||This experience reflects significant issues in management, staff, and property.

I had a wonderful experience staying at the Wyndham Hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything felt welcoming and well-organized. The property itself was clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. What truly made the visit stand out, though, was Teresa. She was absolutely amazing—warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Teresa went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and her friendly attitude made a lasting impression. It’s rare to come across someone who takes such pride in making guests feel at home, and she definitely succeeded. Thanks to her exceptional service, my stay was not just pleasant, but memorable. I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with outstanding customer care

I was going to book with this location but after talking to management, I think I’ll avoid staying here from now on. It seems poor management is a reoccurring theme at this location as per other reviews. Apparently, since I was trying to book my room around a holiday (the 4th of July), the minimum age to check in was raised from 18 to 21, which is unusual. Their own website claims the minimum age is 18, not 21, as do other booking websites. I can see this causing an extreme amount of conflict and confusion which could be simply avoided by just updating the policy online. On top of that, the manager who helped me was extremely rude and disrespectful. She claimed she was either the regional manager or general manager (I was too frustrated to remember what she said). She told me there was no way for me to book a room there but changed her mind when I told her I was 19, for some reason. She claimed that I could only book with them if I did it in person and not on booking.com for multiple reasons (none of which made any actual sense in this context). After getting my information and moving to the payment process, I was told that I would have to pay $440 for my 3 night stay while booking.com had it listed at $340 with taxes. I didn’t get upset at this though since it wasn’t actually her fault but did ask again if I could just book on booking.com and pay in person with a deposit. She again gave me an excuse along the lines of “if we do that, then booking.com is taking responsibility instead of you” which, again, doesn’t make sense if I’m paying YOU in person, not prepaying online. When I asked how they were allowed to change their own policy out of the blue with no notice, this manager claimed that she “IS the policy” since she was the regional manager. When I asked if their was an owner of this location (to imply that she was indeed not the policy, but the owner was), she responded that the owner was “none of my business” then continued by demanding that I leave (which I did). I have seen multiple other reviews claiming that many of the manager's of this location are commonly on power trips such as manager Alex who claimed he doesn’t answer to any supervisors or higher ups. If any of the managers who I’m referring to read this, just remember that you’re a manager at La Quinta and nothing more, if you’re not happy at you’re job, then either get over it and do your job correctly or quit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an excellent stay at La Quinta by Wyndham in Schertz, TX! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and taken care of. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but what truly made my experience stand out was the incredible service at the front desk. Theresa was absolutely amazing! She clearly loves her job, and it shows in every interaction. She was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during my stay. It’s rare to come across someone so genuinely dedicated to great customer service, and she made a lasting impression. Because of Theresa and the overall great experience, I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this location to anyone staying in the area!

My stay was very enjoyable. The room was spacious clean. The water was good and hot. The staff was friendly. There is some construction going on in the front in the lobby area. They’re doing some remodeling, but the rooms are really nice. There’s only one elevator working, but that wasn’t a real problem. I would definitely recommend I will stay again.
